This is an example of little person makes good. A local woman wanted to rebuild the Illinois canal and thru hard work was able to have a canal boat built (pulled by mules) and a first rate tourist attraction erected. Now school busses pull up to the restaurant and canal to eat and learn about early commerce. This canal connected the great lakes with the Mississippi river at one time. It has revitalized downtown with shops opening all around the Lock 16 Café. Plus the soup and sandwiches are great.September 10, 2016
